Day Job — and Wedding Planning — is Hard Work
Dec 2nd
Running a business and planning a big friggin’ wedding at the same time is challenging, to say the least.
Episode 4 of VH1′s My Big Friggin’ Wedding filmed Lynbrook residents Sandra Venturi and Joey Cimino battling it out as they run Cimino’s Avista Hardwood Flooring in Lynbrook and make wedding arrangements. She wants to be introduced as Mr. and Mrs. Joseph and Sandra Cimino at the ceremony. According to Cimino, she has to earn that friggin’ privilege.
First day on the job is stressful for most, but the tension runs even higher with your husband-to-be as your friggin’ boss. Assuming that Venturi incorrectly wrote down a client’s telephone number, Cimino lost his cool big time. Turns out he read the numbers wrong.
“Running a business in a recession as well as trying to pay for a wedding is very stressful, not to mention Sandra has the handwriting of a doctor … and we all know how horrible that is,” said Cimino.
Maybe, he needs anger management like Venturi suggested during the episode. However, Cimino disgrees. “I don’t think I need anger management. You are only seeing a small part of our relationship and all you are seeing is the fighting and bickering,” he said.
Venturi remains optimistic about having Cimino as her employer. “Joey and I both have strong personalities. I really do like working for him. In fact I love it. I am learning so much and I know when I open my business, I was taught by the best,” she said. “It’s a shame that our relationship is being judged by 10 minutes of footage because we really have a great relationship. Besides, bickering is healthy. I would hate a man to be a pushover and he would hate it if I didn’t speak up. As always, we balance each other out.”
Running a business and living in Cimino’s parents house will surely keep these two knee deep in drama, but according to Cimino, they are living during tough economic times and have no other choice.
“Most contractors, especially flooring contractors, have home offices. This is perfect for now until the economy picks back up,” Cimino said. “Soon I’ll be expanding into a storefront and expanding my business to other aspects of the flooring industry.”
For this bickering couple, the best way to take a break from the over-the-top drama is a smack — on the butt, that is. Cimino simply can’t get enough of taking his hand and smacking Venturi’s friggin’ rear end.
“I love Sandra’s butt,” Cimino said. “I always give it a smack every once in a while. I kind of think its funny. I think she likes it.”
One can only hope that with so much yelling and smacking going on, this couple must certainly be on their way to wedded bliss. Tune into VH1 on Mondays at 9 p.m. to see what drama next awaits this friggin’ couple.

Joey and Sandra take on business, wedding planning and the gym.. Episode 4!
Nov 22nd
Episode 4! Wow…time is sure flying.
You know tonight you got to see us visit our favorite person in the whole wide world Francesca from Dazzling Affairs. We selected her as our wedding planner. Francesca and her team are so amazing that we can’t stop singing their praises. If there was one person in this world that knows how to run a Wedding planning business it’s her. She’s award winning, has the most contagious laugh and an all around wonderful person. We love you Francesca!! Thank you for EVERYTHING!! (Thank you Diana also lol).
Also, we paid a visit to Gold’s Gym in Lynbrook tonight! Thank you guys very much for letting us film there. Hello it’s Gold’s Gym…Arnold trained at a “Gold’s Gym” in California. Gold’s Gym has a rep for being the best gym around…and it is! Leo and the team were great sports with the cameras, and they have the best equipment around. We both are avid gym goers and “work on our fitness“5 to 6 times a week. It’s very important to us. We frequent Gold’s Gym and if you live in the area, check them out!
Sandra-
LOL my poor Joey can’t catch a break! Listen for the last time, Joey is not abusive. SO GET OFF IT. Hellooooo I’m not going to marry a man who’s abusive. Who do you take me for? Really…let’s all step back from Reality land and let’s think who has to rake through all the footage to make an episode…an editor. And every show has to have a villain, as Joey has said, and you know what, Joey is a damn good villain; A DAMN SEXY ONE AT THAT. But like every villain, there’s a soft side. And he has one. If you watch the bonus footage we actually have a really good time together. But unfortunately for whatever reason Mr. Editor (or Mrs.) wanted to make him look the way he does, oh friggin’ well. Shit happens I guess. Just wish some people would pull their heads out of their asses…
So for the record, business is running perfect now. In fact we have some new ventures lined up for 2011 and its going to be an exciting year. I remember booking that job and I was super excited. Joey is very anal when it comes to office work. He’s allowed to be though. When you run a business it’s a lot hard work, and the more organized you are the better.
I love the fact that there are several self employed people on the show. It shows a new outlook for our generation; it’s very take charge and it’s enlightens the older people. Joey is a flooring contractor, and a really good one at that. I say this all the time, but I am so proud of him and business. He really is going to be very successful. 2011 baby!!!
Ok, so yes, I have an OBSESSION with my butt. You know something, come to the gym with me and I can promise you, you will not be able to keep up. I weight train 4-5 times a week, I do cardio (no leisure walking here people) 5-6 times a week, and I take very good care of my body. I’m not a rail; I have curves (THANK GOD) and I love them. But I constantly train. I started a new program now in fact, and I was just telling Joey that I love the results. I’m not looking to be a hardcore body builder, but I workout to just feel better about myself. My body feels good both on the inside and outside. I like to be healthy. You know what the best feeling is though? When you have a good workout and you’re actually sore from it… you feel so accomplished! If you want my pre-wedding workout plan, post a comment, and I’ll share it. My body will be in top shape for the wedding, you’ll see.
On to wedding talk; Joey and I paid a visit to Francesca from Dazzling Affairs tonight. We went over some wedding details like guest list. OK, how friggin’ hard is it to send back a RSVP? I mean, when we receive an invite, the rsvp is in the mail the next day with our yes or no. Why wait? How rude is that? If you want to go, than send it back. If you don’t know, FIND OUT. What somethings going to pop up out of nowhere? Looking for an excuse? Please, we have no time to chase people around because they are waiting to send back a RSVP! UGHHHH. I was a little perturbed tonight also when we were figuring out how to be announced. That’s what I mean about wedding stuff…right down to the very smallest detail. You see I don’t know what I want to be announced as. Most people do Mr. and Mrs. His name His Last name, but I also heard people do His name Her name new last name. Do I keep my identity or not? I may just let Joey get his way on this one though. I don’t know but I was thinking about it and there’s something really special about Just using his name and Mr. and Mrs. STUPID THING TO WORRY ABOUT.
Well, I’m off to make some pies for Thanksgiving. YES I BAKE. NO I DON’T MESS THAT UP. Just broiling, but we’ve been through this.
Happy Thanksgiving, be grateful for what you have and who loves you. Talk to you next week…
Ciao Ciao!

Joey- What’s up everybody!?
Tonight’s episode was pretty good. I mean, in the first episode you really didn’t get to know Sandra and myself, and now you know a little bit more and the shit that we had to go through. Its right down to the last detail, like who gets picked up in a Bentley and it gets annoying. But everyone tells you the end result is worth it. I just hope so. Weddings, after all, aren’t cheap, and I don’t settle for anything but the best. $$$
For the record, Sandra still can’t cook lol. 2 Weeks ago, she set the smoke alarm off again, which was quite amusing. Of course, she didn’t take the blame for it. She tries at least. Not to say that most of the time her food is bad, she just hasn’t mastered it yet. Rachael Ray! Giada! I NEED YOU! SAVE ME!
And I really feel it’s important that you know that I am really not that grumpy or mean, however, that’s how I am perceived as on the show. You try planning a wedding, running a business, eating Sandra’s food, and dealing with all the shit I have too. It sucks. Its almost expected for anyone to crack! But in the end and Sandra can vouch for this, I really do care and I’m not a dick. But hey, you would be a dick too if you dealt with half the shit I had too lol. Get married, than come talk to me.
Avista Hardwood Flooring is the company I own and I am very happy that VH1 actually put it on the show. It was really cool to actually see my business on TV, especially since I worked so hard on establishing myself. I have been in this business for years, and thankfully, survived a recession, prevailed and came out on top. I’m not the type of business owner that goes with flow. Especially in this business, you need to be ahead of the competitor all the time. I have the best team, I expect the best from my employees and I am a tough boss, but the job gets done and it gets done RIGHT the first time. It’s something I really take pride in.
Sandra and I are Business people. While so many people say its hard working with your significant other, I really can’t complain that much. She does work hard. She just needs a kick in the ass sometimes. But she keeps the company in check.
If there is one thing I hate its when people really mess with her. That job destroyed her. Sandra is a happy, laid back person, and they ate her alive. I couldn’t be THAT mad at her when she told me she resigned because I knew that it was right. I wish she did wait, but in the end, my personal life with her got a hell of a lot better. She went back to normal. She was no longer a nasty bitch lmao.
Thanks for being a fan and see you next week!
Sandra-
Ughhhh well The Soup here I come lol. Joel McHale bring it on. Yes that’s right I set the oven on fire. That was a terrible day. All I remember was coming home, seeing the crew and being like WTF!? I had NO IDEA I was going to be filmed cooking that day; Never the less cooking steaks. I have such a fear using the broiler it’s not even funny. But I need to defend myself. I am a health food fanatic. I eat a lot of salad, tofu, grilled fish, lean beef and chicken. I don’t eat Veal (ew) or Pork (bigger ew) or anything like Rabbit or Deer or intestines or EWWWWW it’s making me GAG! So I very rarely use a broiler.
Joey’s mother is the BEST cook on Long Island, Hands down. She is Paula Dean ala Long Island! I will never compare, especially since butter is something not in my vocabulary nor diet lol. JoAnn felt so bad for us that she bought us a NuWave oven, which I LOVE, and I swear it has saved my life. Without that handy, dandy little oven I more than likely would have burnt the house down. Hint Hint Brides put that baby on your registries! Best invention EVER! Trust me!
And, yes I did resign from my position in tonight’s episode. Joey is the most supportive person ever. He may not have directly shown it, but when the cameras were down, he really was some what relieved that I finally got the balls and did something for me. He was worried for a while. I don’t think a job should ever bring you to the point where you are letting it consume your life. Life is too short and it’s not healthy. Jobs are like boyfriends. You need to break up with a few before you find the right one. And what’s the right one for me? Soon enough, I’ll be running my boutique and being my own boss. Joey has been a great mentor with that. He makes me so proud. And hopefully, within the next year, he’ll be proud of me too.
I’m a determined girl. I get what I want. And I am sure as hell smart about it.
Oh yeah… in case you were wondering, Joey and I own a WATER BED!!! LMAO it’s so funny to tell people that. Our bed is a wishy-washy water bed. And Joey and I love it. We couldn’t stop laughing when we saw our beloved water bed on tv!
Ok, and let me just defend myself one more time before I go because I just saw what Joey wrote and I am ready to kill him lol. I did NOT set the alarm on fire by myself! It’s the friggin’ broiler you ass! I, for the record, was making you pork chops (ew. YUCK) in a pan not the boiler. So whatever was in the broiler was causing the alarm to go off. So there! Jerk. HEHEHEHE.
Well thanks again everyone! Hope to see you next week! We really appreciate the Love and Support! Don’t forget to let us know what you think! Comment here or Check out www.facebook.com/joeyandsandra and post it!
Ciao Ciao!
